I've been real busy this week in the studio. Haven't gotten to work on the wheel but I have done some fusing and some china painting. This first picture is of a horsehead medallion donated by Jackie Arns-Rossi, sculpted by Sonya Johnson and cast by Lesli Kathman. I'm finishing this piece in china paints to a smoky palomino sabino and it will be a donation to the Flying Heart Fundraiser. In this photo he has been through the glaze firing and one china paint firing. He has one or two more dances with the kiln yet.
The second photo is of a Lakeshore Collection Marshall that I have begun to china paint after a sanctuary appaloosa I have in my pasture, Desert Outlaw, aka Woody. I removed much of the chestnut base color, gloss glazed it, and have begun to add china paint layers.
The third set of photos are of some fused glass jewelry pieces hung on natural stone chokers. I love doing fusing/slumping and plan to do a special release using the Flying Heart logo.
The last set of photos are of some glazed ceramic medallions that I then mounted and made necklaces from. The horsehead medallion was sclupted by Lesli Kathman. The lady-in-the-hat was a freehand sketch I did in china paints.
