Change

I don't deal with change LOL. I like consistency in my life which is at odds with being a teacher (new kids every year) and being a fired artist (I NEVER know what I'll get out of the kiln). So when I heard that there was a major change at the school where I teach (head of school resigned) just two weeks before we start back, my heart sank. Because it's a change. I don't know if it will be a good change or not, but my personality has already labeled it a "bad" thing because things will be different when I go back.

I don't know how you retrain yourself to be more comfortable with change but I wish I could! There have been a LOT of changes in my life for sure, and I've survived them, so I guess I can handle another, but I wish I didn't get so worried at the thought of "what if".

It's funny, because between the heat and the thunderstorms I haven't gotten much firing done this summer, so today I did something different. I worked on a couple of resins that had been languishing on the shelf. So I guess if I can control the change or it's minor, I'm okay with change LOL.

Anyway, this is a Let Fly resin by Tibbi Searcher. It belongs to RESS and was started years ago and never finished. I took the basic color and have been adding layers of pastels and more appaloosa details to it. It's got a lot of work to be done but at least it's looking more like an appy foal and less like a big orange horse!
