Wow, I can't believe it's been almost a year since I have made an entry. My apologies, I had such great plans for my blog, along the lines of Lesli Kathman, http://blackberry-lane.blogspot.com/, Sarah Minkiewicz Breunig, http://mink-studios.blogspot.com/, Karen Gerhardt, http://westerlydesign.blogspot.com/ , and Jenn Danza, http://coolbluestudio.blogspot.com/ , but then I went back to teaching full time and, well the rest is history LOL. BTW, if you haven't read these ladies' blogs please do. They are simply marvelous!
That said, I have been progressing really well with my art. I am now primarily china painting so far as equine work goes and also now have a potter's wheel so I am beginning to produce thrown work as well. I'm still doing fused glass and have incorporated my art into my science courses at the school where I teach, http://www.thefultonschool.org/ And I'm very happy to be very involved with RESS (Realistic Equine Sculpture Society) http://www.ress.org/ as its Executive Director! And I'm finally working on the OF SR for Lakeshore!
I have uploaded photos of my most recent work at http://www.firehorsedesigns.org/ and also to my group, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FireHorseDesigns/ . The piece pictured above isn't quite finished yet but I'm very happy with him. He is china painted onto unglazed bone china bisque, a technique that Karen Gerhardt introduced me to.
I am REALLY going to try to at least make one entry per month rather than per year now LOL.
