Finding the courage to try something new

I admit my passion in horses is for appaloosas. So my art reflects that. But I do need to try something new, like a paint or a solid. Since my appaloosa patterns are winning in the ring, I think it's time for me to branch out.

Yesterday I went to a show for the first time in a long time. I'm thrilled to report that one of my cold painted pieces garnered a second place out of 21 entries in workmanship! Yes it was an app LOL. Then in the custom glaze division three of my pieces took home championships! While I would continue to make my pieces for the sheer love of the medium, there is a thrill to being pinned by different judges for my workmanship abilities.

Since this week is spring break, I am going to really break out of my comfort zone and do a paint and an unrealistic art glaze!
