We've had an incredible amount of rain in northeast Texas this spring. Mind you, I'm not complaining. I went to Waco last weekend and the difference was amazing. We are lush and green and the horses are enjoying it to the fullest.
We have another storm coming in soon but the four guys were opposite my studio window so I snapped a couple of quick pics. The big horse is 3/4 TB and tends to be a bit hard to keep weight on, while the three colored appys gain weight just by breathing and they tend to be butterballs. Of course the horse that needs the grain is the low man on the totem pole so things get interesting at feeding time LOL.
The two colored geldings are Woody and Hartley, the solid gelding is Blaze, and the plump POA/appy is Belle.
Last week during yet another storm, the power got knocked out at 4:45 AM and, of course, I had to get ready for school. Ever try putting make up on and doing your hair by the power of one flashlight? I was not cut out for pioneer life, I can say that much LOL.
And the other kicker last week was after I had fired two Hadrians and 13 medallions, I opened my kiln lid, and the top of the element was gracefully draped across the whole diameter of the kiln. It was about 1/8 of an inch from the glazed pieces! So off to the factory I went to get an estimate. Here's hoping I don't have to buy a new kiln!
