I hope everyone had a peaceful and lovefilled holiday last week. It was a quiet Christmas for hubby and me. And the doctor gave me a week off from scraping so it was a pain free Christmas too! I finally felt good enough to pick up the paint brush and start working on some artist resins and some china painting.
On the top is a CM that is a drastic custom done in 1994 by Paige Easley Patty. This CM was the prototype for her first resin release, Hard To Catch. I'm doing the finishwork on him. He's being finished in acrylic stains.
On the bottom is an earthenware Spinnaker that is in progress. I started firing some basic stuff again (fused glass, pieces thrown on the wheel etc.) that if I screwed up due to pain or pain killers it wouldn't be a huge loss. This week is the first week I've felt secure enough to handle something precious like Spinny. This little guy is one of my all time favorite molds. He was sculpted by Sarah Minkiewicz-Breunig for RESS. I glazed various areas with either matte and gloss clear glaze prior to china painting.
Sarah also donated two clear glazed medallions that I will china paint this spring for NEIBITS. I love finishing her work! I can't wait til I'm well enough to tackle the china Storm Watch!
Have a safe and happy New Year!
